Registered Massage Therapy

Massage treatments with me are focused and individualized, involving assessment, reassessment, massage therapy, active therapies, exercises and education. This model is often referred to as remedial or therapeutic massage and it uses evidence informed assessment and techniques to help address specific concerns in the body. Registered massage therapy can assist with:

  • Low back pain and sciatica
  • Sports injuries
  • TMJ (Jaw) pain
  • Chronic pain
  • Pre/post surgery
  • Neck pain and headaches
  • Tendonitis
  • Car accident related injuries
  • Pregnancy related tension
  • General tension or stress

Sports Massage

Sports massage can be beneficial before or after training or competition. With treatment tailored to your specific needs depending on where you are in your training or competition cycle. Sports massage is not reserved for professional athletes and can be beneficial for athletes of all ages and abilities. * All bookings are made under “Massage Therapy” please specify when you see me that you would like sports massage.

Pre/Post Natal (Pregnancy) Massage

Massage therapy can be beneficial at all stages of pregnancy to treat areas of discomfort that can arise during the different pregnancy stages. Care is taken to ensure your comfort and to address your concerns in a safe and effective manner, communication between you and your therapist based on your health (as assessed by your doctor) is important to ensure your safety.

Therapeutic Exercise

Whether you are recovering from injury or addressing postural concerns, a therapeutic exercise program is an important complementary to your massage treatment. This can be offered as part of a remedial massage therapy treatment but is also available in a more in depth and structured plan that helps you address your concerns. A full assessment will take place before determining the exercises that best fit your individual needs.

Pilates

As a soon to be qualified Polestar pilates instructor I use the principals of pilates and my knowledge of injury rehabilitation to help my clients manage and prevent pain and injury.
