About

Hello there, my name is Genevieve …

I grew up in Mount Maunganui where I developed a love for water sports and living an active lifestyle, this led me to take to the sport of rowing where I represented New Zealand internationally as part of the New Zealand rowing team.

After I left rowing, I pursued a career in registered massage therapy in Vancouver, Canada. I was fortunate to train under and work alongside some highly respected health care professionals and I want to continue fostering this growth and learning to better help others.

As an athlete, I found massage therapy and pilates to be a keystone in helping me through injuries and supporting my body for optimal movement and mobility. I draw on my experiences as an athlete and as someone who experiences chronic pain to help guide my massage therapy practice.

In my practice I utilize a variety of techniques based on the individual needs of each patient. I have a strong interest in myofascial release, joint mobilizations and active movement to help treat and prevent injuries. I aim to work WITH you to develop an individualized treatment plan in order to help you achieve your unique goals.

I have experience working with people of all ages, abilities and walks of life including athletes, those experiencing chronic pain, pregnant women and those dealing with chronic illness.

My Why ….

I started Base Therapeutics to help others optimise their movement, tune in to their bodies and learn about how they can better support themselves. My aim is to guide others to help them continue to do the things they love in life as they go through different life phases.
